On the other side of the Atlantic, Cardinals
are locked inside the Sistine Chapel battling to find the next pope (perhaps
with hopes to usher in change) while all eyes are now focused on the color of
smoke. After the first round, all one can see is pitch black smoke thus
confirming the cardinals will be back at it again tomorrow morning.
On this
side of the Atlantic, republicans are locked in another sort of battle with the
democrats. Having lost the 2012 election, republicans remain determined not to
let anyone govern. Given the ongoing political saga that is full of
monkey-business, is it perhaps time for all representatives to be locked inside
the Congress building and to be kept there until a workable decision is
reached. Knowing that they might run out of black smoke without ever arriving
at a rational decision, a 7-day deadline may be a practical approach to force a
decision.
The
current political state of the United States of America, well, one could say:
Democracy it is, good governance it is not.
Anyone
desiring change; if so, what sort of change?
